Google Dorking elementary guide

January 03, 2023

Google Hacking or Google Dorking, is the name given to the use of advanced search operators to squeeze the most out of Google searches and get accurate results, as such, it is known as “Dork” to the use of two or more search operators used at the same time in the search engine, in this article you will know what are the main ones individually so you can implement them in your work.

Site operator

This operator will allow you to select the search in a single domain, i.e., if we want the entire search to be done in the domain and we want to search for “QR”, we simply indicate it to the search engine. QR

And you will see that the results are for the word QR only within the colddsecurity domain or its subdomains.

Title operator

Next, this operator allows the search in the title of the page, that is, within the “title” tags of the HTML code that makes up each page individually, for example, if we want to search for “hacker” within the titles of the pages that are in turn within the domain “” we would use. intitle:hacker

This way you will only get results where the page titles contain the word “hacker” and that are within the selected domain (or its subdomains).

Intext operator

In contrast to the previous operator, this operator allows you to search for information, but within the body of the pages, that is, it will search within the “body” tags of the HTML code of each page individually, if for example you wanted to search in the title of the results the word “coldd” and in the body of the page “ciberseguridad y privacidad 101“, we would use.

intitle:coldd intext:"ciberseguridad y privacidad 101"

Inurl operator

On the other hand, the following operator allows you to search for the information, but contained in the URL of the resources, it must be understood that it is not the same as the previous one, since a resource can contain a keyword within the URL and not contain it in its URL.

As an example, if you want to search for the word “hacker” within the URL of the search results and, additionally, that in the title of the pages is the word intitle: “ciberseguridad”, we would use.

intitle:ciberseguridad inurl:hacker

And results are obtained where these conditions are met.

Logical operators and others

Finally, there are more operators that complement the searches, at the level of logical operators you can use AND and OR, for the obvious use of each operator, with the minus sign (-) you can omit information from the searches and, with the quotation marks you can make Google search for keywords literally, that is, when you search for Coldd Security, Google will search individually for the word Coldd, the word Security and the combinations Coldd Security and Security Coldd, on the other hand, when you tell Google that you want to search for “Coldd Security” it will only return results where that phrase is exactly as you typed it, which can make it much easier for you to filter information.

We hope this mini-guide has helped you and, if you know it can help someone else, you are free to share it.
